Dr. Cassandra Boon
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Cassandra Boon is a registered professional chiropractor, in Kimberley and Cranbrook, BC. Her career and personal life have involved extensive focus on movement, health and sport. Dr. Boon’s background includes kinesiology, personal training and sport conditioning for professional athletes. She has worked with national level athletes and teams in skiing, cycling, running, triathlon, basketball, soccer, hockey and outdoor pursuits. Dr. Boon has worked in many multi-disciplinary practices in both rural and urban settings, and has practiced in some of Canada’s finest and most engaging chiropractic clinics. She has trained, treated and consulted with the Canadian National Half Pipe team in an ongoing capacity.
Dr. Boon is also an accomplished professional athlete, and competed nationally and internationally as a downhill mountain biker. Her career highlights include Canadian National Champion, top World Cup competitor rankings, and mountain bike coaching and mentoring throughout Canada and the US.
Dr. Boon is a Kimberley and Cranbrook local and grew up in the Kootenays. She is enthusiastic about healthy living, happy people and being outside in one of the best places in the world. She feels fortunate to call Kimberley home and is proud to be a part of the community.
Dr. Derek Strachan
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Strachan has been a licensed Chiropractor since 2003, he graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in California. He grew up in Kelowna, BC playing sports all his life and played soccer in College, was an athletic trainer for many years, has coached both his children in soccer, baseball and basketball since they were 5 years old. He has a deep understanding of the nervous system and its relationship to the spine and muscles system. Dr. Strachan is an expert adjustor with a multitude of techniques he has learned, developed and made his own over the past 18 years. He has traveled throughout the US teaching the art of adjusting the spine.
Dr. Strachan and his wife Tamara owned a practice in Seattle, Wa for 16 years. Their dream was always to move back to Canada and in September 2020 they made the leap of faith. With their two kids they are now residents of Kimberley and are proud of it. They fell in love with the area over 25 years ago when they started visiting Kimberley to spend time with family. Dr. Strachan loves to ski, mountain bike, hike, camp and spend time with his family.
When Dr. Strachan was 10 years old he was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his lower left leg and the doctors wanted to amputate his leg. Thanks to his mother's intuition he still has his leg. The doctors had miss diagnosed the tumor, it was benign and through surgery the tumor was removed. It was during this time that Dr. Strachan started to take interest in the human body and how it heals. He is extremely passionate about Chiropractic, the power of the mind and natural healing methods. He has dedicated his life to wellness practices. Everything from eating, moving, thinking and sleeping, Dr. Strachan has something to teach. You can find Dr. Strachan sharing his gifts at either Fine and Well location. He is excited to call Kimberley home and plant some roots into this community!
Registered Massage Therapist
Sarah has been practicing massage therapy since 2002 and is a graduate of Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy. Over the span of her career she has trained extensively in myofacial release, visceral massage, prenatal, pediatric and embodied movement known as Somatic Experiencing.
Sarah’s approach to facilitating healing is to address aspects of the mind, body and soul and help patients understand what their body is saying to them.
“I like to build a relationship with my patients, massage therapy is not a one off - It's really about relearning how to live in union with your body and life”, says Sarah.
Sarah is the mother to a six year old Autistic son and has chosen to relocate here to work with the ASD community.
